The Forgotten Preschoolers
Research Opportunity for Central Florida Families
Have you ever wondered why some preschool children who learn at home may enter kindergarten less prepared than their peers who attend preschool programs? This question is at the heart of an important research study being conducted through Texas Tech University.
Many preschool-aged children spend their early years learning at home with parents, caregivers, grandparents, or home-based childcare providers. While these learning environments offer many benefits, families often have limited access to the educational resources, curriculum materials, and support systems available in traditional preschool settings.
This research study seeks to better understand how free educational resources and parent support can impact early literacy development and school readiness among preschool children learning in home-based environments throughout Central Florida.
What Participants Receive
Families selected to participate may receive free educational resources, including:
📚 Early Literacy Curriculum
📖 Children's Books
🎨 Art Supplies
💻 Educational Technology Resources
👕 Educational Materials & Learning Supports
Why Participate?
By participating in this study, families will help researchers better understand how to support preschool children who are learning outside of traditional preschool programs. The findings may contribute to future educational programs, resources, and support systems designed specifically for home-based learners. Participants will also play an important role in helping researchers examine how educational materials, parent involvement, and learning experiences influence early literacy skills and kindergarten readiness.
Who Can Participate?
We are seeking families in Central Florida with preschool-aged children who are primarily learning in home-based settings and are not currently enrolled in a traditional preschool program.
